'Be curious, not judgmental'
-Walt Whitman
What simple, but extremely insightful words! How can we stay curious and non-judging with our own internal struggles? It’s one thing to put yourself in curiosity mode when it comes to the rest of humanity, but another, even more difficult task, to treat yourself with curiosity and not judgment.
Try this exercise...
-Breathe and sit with some pain, stress, or sadness afflicting you.
-Give it your complete focus and attention.
-Explore its depths and give it a voice. Hear it out like a friend in need.
-Ask why it exists and what it needs. Journal the response
Listen, stay curious about it, and reserve judgment upon yourself. See what arises when self-acceptance without judgment is sought.
